Coming to the knowledge of the Truth

Posted by on Nov 10, 2011 in Ministry Blog | 0 comments

Thanks for praying for Arthur! We had a great study this afternoon on the Biblical timeline of salvation:

1) Coming to the knowledge of the Truth – 2 Tim. 2:4
2) Coming to Repentance – 2 Peter 3:9
3) Coming to Christ – John 6:37

Arthur was able to express his need of calling out to the Lord for salvation and I encouraged him to not put off that critical decision. I believe he is not far from the kingdom.

Prayer Praise: A bright spot in a wet and gloomy day

Thanks for praying for Arthur. It was a bright spot in my day, as we focused on what the Bible says about repentance and faith. There were several “aha!” moments during our study, and next week we plan to “draw the net” and bring Arthur to a decision about salvation.

Thanks for your Prayers for Arthur! Dale and I had another great Bible
Study with him today and it was exciting to see truths about sin and
salvation come alive for him. I asked a lot of questions and Arthur
was attentive to every word of Romans 6:23 – the text of our study.
What a tremendous blessing it is to simply let the Bible speak for
itself.

Psalm 12:6-7 – “The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried
in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O
LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”

A New Study with Arthur

Posted by on Oct 6, 2011 in Ministry Blog | 0 comments

It was a joy to start a new Bible study this afternoon with a man
named Arthur, who has been visiting church for the last few weeks.
Dale Stengel and I simply pointed him to God’s Law and let the Bible
challenge his thinking. Good stuff. Please pray that God would protect
the seed that was sown.

“For the Word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any
twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and
spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the
thoughts and intents of the heart.” ~Hebrews 4:16
